Surgical Extractions
Dislodged Tooth Fragments:
When extracting top molars, part of the root may enter the sinus cavity, causing cheek pain or nasal drainage. Our oral surgeon performs minimally invasive procedures, often under local anesthesia, to retrieve the fragment and address any infection. In some cases, general anesthesia might be necessary.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction:
These rearmost teeth often pose challenges due to impaction and potential gum infections. Your oral surgeon will determine the best approach - local anesthesia or sedation - based on the tooth's complexity and your individual needs.
Apicectomy (Root End Surgery):
For root-treated teeth with persistent infection, this surgery targets the root tip. The infected tissue and any cysts are removed, and the root tip is sealed to prevent future infection and preserve the tooth. This procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia.
